Tania Jacobi, born in Hamburg, studied art in Belgium, Spain and New York. She lived as a freelance artist in Mexico City. For many years she was part of the vibrant hub of the Downtown Los Angeles art comunity.
After fifteen years abroad in 2004 Tania Jacobi returned to her homeland Germany and is currently living in the art-metropolis Berlin.
The main focus of Jacobi's work is the true essence of nature; woman, man, animal. In large oil paintings as well as in expressionistic drawings she discovers the hidden and enigmatic within.
She has had portrait-commissions to paint the internationally renown pianist Martha Argerich, the former German foreign minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher as well as minister of foreign affairs Sigmar Gabriel and Prime Minister pf Estonia, Kaja Kallas, among others.
