Tania Jacobi, born in Hamburg/ Germany, studied art in Belgium, Spain and New York. She lived as a freelance artist in Mexico City and was many years part of the diverse Los Angeles artist comunity.
After fifteen years abroad Tania Jacobi returned to her homeland Germany in 2004 and is since living and working in the art-metropolis Berlin.
The main focus of Jacobi's work is the human being. In large-sized oil paintings as well as in expressionistic drawings she dicovers the hidden and the enigmatic wihtin us.
She was commissioned to portrait the internationally known pianist Martha Argerich, the former German foreign minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher and Sigmar Gabriel among others.
